Authorities believe that clothes discovered on a beach in the Dominican Republic belong to Indian-American student Sudiksha Konanki, who mysteriously went missing from the area over a week ago. CDN images show a white netted sarong draped over the beach lounge chair, including flip-flops with sand over it.

Surveillance footage shows the resemblance of clothes from the night Konanki disappeared. It further shows she was going with Joshua Riibe, 22, who is senior at Minnesota's St Cloud State University around 4:15 am near the beach. Law enforcement say that she fell into the ocean and drowned, however, not refusing the foul play angle.

Who is Sudiksha Konanki?

Konanki, 20, an Indian-American from Virginia, is a student at the University of Pittsburgh. She was accompanied by her friends who reported her missing on March 6 around 4 pm. They had travelled to the RIU Hotel and Resort in Punta Cana for spring break.

What does Riibe's parents have to say?

“Despite his full willingness to cooperate, Josh has been detained under irregular conditions and subjected to extensive questioning without the presence of official translators or legal counsel until Wednesday, March 12,”WTAE quoted Riibe's parents as saying. As per reports, Riibe has declined to answer questions posed to her. He has been kept under 24-hour surveillance, with people familiar to the incient believe a superior in the Public Prosecutor’s Office could make interrogations tougher, the New York Post reported.

Virginia Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Thomas Julia informed Fox News Digital that the police want to “make sure the investigation is comprehensive and includes all possible assets and techniques, adding, “We are working closely with the FBI on all of this, and they are working with the Dominican National Police.” Julia stated that Riibe is a person of interest and not a suspect. March 15 was the eighth day of search operations in the case.
