The last round of Social Security Payments in the US for March 2025 will be distributed today, March 26. Millions are set to receive checks, but eligibility varies based on birth date and benefit type according to the Social Security Administration (SSA).
US President Donald Trump informed on his social media handles about signing an executive order approving the stimulus.
“I just signed an Executive Order enabling the U.S. Treasury to modernize its payments system, in order to reduce waste, fraud and abuse,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social handle.
If a beneficiary's birthday falls between the 1st and 10th of any month, the stimulus was scheduled to be rolled out on the second Wednesday of the month, March 12.
For those whose dates of birth are between the 11th and 20th of any month, checks were sent on the third Wednesday, March 19, 2025.
Since people born between the 1st and 20th of any month received their checks earlier, they will not receive stimulus on March 26.
For beneficiaries receiving stimulus before May 1997 or those getting both Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Social Security, the checks are cleared mostly on the 3rd of the month. Hence, such beneficiaries will not receive a check on March 26.
Beneficiaries who are suspended under the scheme over identity verification problems, overpayment, or ineligibility under new rules, etc, will not get the check on March 26 till their issue is resolved.
SSI beneficiaries receive stimulus on the 1st of every month. Hence, these beneficiaries will not receive the check on March 26.
People whose birth date falls between the 21st and 31st of any month and those who started getting benefits after May 1997 will receive checks on March 26.
If an eligible beneficiary does not receive the check on March 26 must wait for three business days before contacting SSA at 1-800-772-1213.
From March 31 onwards, the provision of identity verification through phones in order to get benefits under the scheme or update payment details will not be permitted. Beneficiaries will be required to use the SSA online portal or visit the office in person for identity verification or to update payment details.
