Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) UKSSSC examination originally scheduled for October 5 has been postponed to a new date following requests from the candidates.
UKSSSC Chief Executive Officer GS Martolia told news agency ANI that the new examination date will be announced later.
The latest development comes amid uncertainty over the commission's upcoming recruitment examinations after the alleged leak of three pages of a question paper from an examination centre in Haridwar during the graduate-level examination on September 21.
Meanwhile, on October 1, Martolia told PTI that the UKSSSC, which is involved in the alleged paper leak controversy of the graduation-level exam, will conduct the upcoming recruitment exams for over 5,000 government positions. He said that the exams for multiple government department roles scheduled through June 2026 will proceed as scheduled.
Martolia mentioned that there are around 10,000 and 12,000 posts in total, out of which the exams for about 4,500 to 5,000 of these posts have already been completed. The final results were expected to be announced shortly after document verification and physical examinations.
He said that, based on past experiences, security measures are being intensified during the examination. He noted that a thorough review has been carried out with district magistrates and senior superintendents of police concerning biometric verification of candidates, frisking procedures, and the installation of jammers at the exam centres.
Martolia stated that the examination centre will be fully sanitised the day before the exam and staffed by security personnel until the exam starts. He also mentioned that candidates should arrive two hours early, undergo biometric verification, and a thorough search at the entrance.
Khalid Malik, the main accused in the recent exam paper leak case, reportedly admitted during interrogation that he had hidden his mobile phone at the examination centre a day before. He used the phone to photograph three pages of the question paper and then sent them to his sister from the washroom.
