Brazilian fitness influencer, Larissa Borges, dies at the age of 33 due to double cardiac arrest
Brazilian fitness influencer Larissa Borges, 33, passed away after experiencing two consecutive cardiac arrests. The cause of her death is still unknown, but preliminary investigations suggest that she may have been intoxicated when she suffered the heart complications
Brazilian fitness influencer Larissa Borges died after she suffered two back-to-back cardiac arrest. Her death was confirmed by her family members on social media two days ago.
“It is with deep sadness that we report the death of our beloved Larissa Borges,” said the family in Portuguese. “Larissa suffered a cardiac arrest on Sunday, the 20th, in Gramado-RS and fought bravely in a coma for a week.”
Lrissa Borges died on August 28 after suffering a second cardiac arrest. According to the statement, she was already bed-ridden and was undergoing treatment of previous cardiac arrest. Her first cardiac arrest hit her when she was travelling in Brazil's Gramado city. After being struck by the first cardiac arrest, she went into a week-long coma. Before she could recover from her first cardiac arrest, she faced another one and died.
“The pain of losing someone so young, at just 33 years old, and so lovely is overwhelming,” said the statement. “Our hearts are broken, and the longing we will feel is indescribable.”
According to news reports, there is still no clarification on what led to the death of influencer. A preliminary investigation has revealed that Borges may have been intoxicated when she suffered heart complications.
Deputy Gustavo Barcellos suggested the possibility of the consumption of narcotic substances, accumulated with alcoholic beverages.
“Let’s try to look through laboratory tests for substances that she possibly consumed. We have already heard the boyfriend who was with her and we are investigating the case,” Barcellos added. Larissa Borges' body will be sent for post-mortem for further investigation. Authorities are hopeful that post-mortem will provide more details on the circumstances that led to her painful demise.
There has been a surge in cases of sudden deaths of fitness freaks because of sudden heart attacks or other heart related conditions. Months ago, a thirty-year-old German fitness influencer, Jo Lindner, died at the after suffering from aneurysm. He had reportedly complained of neck pain three days prior his death. Anurysm is a health condition which occurs when an artery’s wall weakens and causes an abnormally large bulge. The condition can result in internal bleeding and is common in brain, legs, behind knee, intestine and legs.
