Amid an extensive search for a missing submersible, the near the wreck of the Titanic officials have now found a ‘debris field’ within the search area. The development came mere hours after the missing vessel is expected to have run out of oxygen and hopes of a successful rescue dwindled. The US Coast Guard said that experts were "evaluating the information."
The van-sized submersible had begun its descent around 5:30 pm on Sunday (IST). It however lost contact with its support ship about an hour and 45 minuts into the journey. The Titan had set off with 96 hours of air - which means that its oxygen supply would likely have been exhausted by Thursday morning.
