Donald Trump shares PM Modi’s podcast with Lex Fridman after he discloses why he ‘connects with US Prez so much’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's podcast with American podcaster and computer scientist Lex Fridman was shared by US President Donald Trump on Truth Social.

During the podcast, released on Sunday, the Prime Minister expressed his mutual trust and strong bond with former US President Donald Trump. He noted that their connection is built on their shared belief in prioritizing their respective national interests.

In his interaction with American podcaster and computer scientist Lex Fridman, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed the importance of synchronisation and collaboration to drive global initiatives forward.

Modi also addressed the significance of global organizations like the United Nations, highlighting their failure to evolve with the changing times, which has sparked a worldwide debate over their relevance.

“His reflection showed his America First spirit, just as I believe in nation first,” Modi said. “I stand for India first and that’s why we connect so well.”

Modi also praised Trump as a man of courage who made independent decisions and remained dedicated to the United States. He pointed out that Trump's resilience was evident when he was shot at during the election campaign trail last year, emphasizing the former president's determination and preparedness, especially in his second term.

Modi-Trump friendship

PM Modi was one of the first foreign leaders to visit Donald Trump after his return to the White House earlier this year. Despite recent tensions, Trump and Modi have fostered a strong relationship, with several meetings during the US president's first term. The US has long seen India as a key regional partner and a counterbalance to an increasingly assertive China.

During Modi's latest visit to the US, the two countries agreed to begin negotiations on the first phase of a multi-sector trade deal by the fall of this year.

Trade between the two nations reached $127 billion in 2023, making the US India’s largest trading partner and placing pressure on New Delhi to finalize a deal.

Modi also shared a personal anecdote about his first visit to the White House, when Trump took him aside for a private tour of the presidential residence.

He praised Trump for his gesture of joining him at the "Howdy Modi" rally in Houston in 2019, where they walked around the stadium and waved to the crowd. Modi remarked, “It showed me that this man had courage.”

Reflecting on Trump’s leadership, Modi said that Trump is in a better position to lead during his second term, highlighting his clear and well-defined roadmap toward his goals. He commended the efficiency campaign led by Musk, noting that Trump appears far more prepared than he did in his first term.
