The outbreak of the US-Israel war against Iran has led to flight cancellations across West Asia, leaving airlines and governments scrambling to support thousands of stranded passengers.
With most airspace in the region still closed over missile and drone concerns, some people have turned to private jets. Charter flights and limited commercial services are struggling to evacuate tens of thousands of travellers, who have had to pay high prices to leave the region.
Fighter jets were also occasionally seen escorting passengers to passenger jets.

British warplanes have begun "defensive air sorties" in support of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and taken out drones elsewhere in the Middle East amid the ongoing war, the UK defence ministry.
"The UK is now conducting defensive air sorties in support of the UAE," Healey told MPs in a statement.
"Typhoons successfully took out two drones, one over Jordan, the second heading to Bahrain."
The UK's two embassies in the UAE, in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, will "continue to operate as normal", the foreign office said.
However, the foreign office said that "as a precautionary measure" dependants of UK embassy staff in the UAE will be temporarily withdrawn from the country.
Thousands of British citizens are thought to be stranded in the UAE because of flight chaos caused by the conflict.
Over 1,70,000 people in the Middle East have registered their presence with the UK government and three chartered flights have so far taken off, Healey told MPs.
Jet fuel prices, which were around $85 to $90 per barrel prior to the conflict, have increased sharply to between $150 and $200 per barrel in recent days.
Air New Zealand suspended its earnings guidance as wildly fluctuating jet fuel prices mean the assumptions it made less than two weeks ago are no longer valid.
“Due to this unprecedented volatility, the jet fuel price assumption underlying Air New Zealand’s guidance is no longer appropriate,” the airline said. “The crisis is expected to meaningfully affect second-half earnings and accordingly, the airline has suspended FY2026 guidance until fuel markets and operating conditions stabilize.”
