About eight young children and an adult were injured in France's Annecy on 8 June when an attacker attacked them with a knife, AP quoted France's interior minister Gerald Darmanin as saying.
As per details, the attack took place in a square in the town of Annecy, following which the attacker was detained. The children were about three years old, police said.
“Several people including children have been injured by an individual armed with a knife in a square in Annecy,” Darmanin tweeted.
Calling the attack as 'abominable', a local lawmaker, Antoine Armand, tweeted that children were attacked on a playground.
Meanwhile, lawmakers interrupted a debate in Paris to hold a moment of silence for the victims, BFMTV reported.
