During this month's annual developers' conference, Google introduced its inaugural foldable smartphone, the Pixel Fold. This device has garnered considerable attention in the smartphone industry.
However, one lingering question among tech enthusiasts was whether the CEO of Google himself utilizes the foldable smartphone. The answer to that query is affirmative - he does indeed use it.
During an informal discussion with YouTuber Arun Maini, popularly known as "Mrwhosetheboss," Google CEO Sundar Pichai engaged in a candid conversation about the future of smartphones. Pichai disclosed that he has extensively tested the Pixel Fold, indicating his familiarity with the device. However, the Pixel Fold is not his sole smartphone choice. Pichai also utilizes a Pixel 7 Pro as his primary device, along with a Samsung Galaxy device and an iPhone for testing purposes.
When asked about his usage of a foldable smartphone, Sundar Pichai confirmed that he has been testing a Fold device for a considerable period of time. Nevertheless, he admitted that there are instances when he prefers to use his regular phone, particularly during travel when he simply needs to quickly check his email. In such situations, Pichai expressed a preference for a lighter phone over a foldable device.
When Maini asked Pichai “What phone do you use?” the Google CEO replied, “Right now it’s the Pixel 7 Pro, but I’m testing, I use everything – from Samsung Galaxy to the new Pixel Fold to the iPhone.”
Since its upload three days ago, the YouTube interview has garnered an impressive 2.5 million views. The comments section reflects viewers' admiration for the interaction, with one person expressing delight in seeing both participants together and praising Pichai's humility.
Another commenter appreciates Pichai's ability to explain concepts in a meticulous and straightforward manner, while also noting his sincere demeanour.
