Trump visited Israel on Monday amid a fragile ceasefire in Gaza, which he played a key role in brokering, entering its fourth day. During his brief visit, Trump met with the families of hostages.
Cairo summit
Neither Israel nor Hamas — which do not engage in direct talks — attended the summit at Cairo. Israel has also ruled out any role for the internationally recognised Palestinian Authority in Gaza, although its leader is set to participate in the summit.
Netanyahu says on a day that "will be inscribed in history", Trump too will be "inscribed in the history of our nation" and the world.
"How long we've waited for this moment," he says, "and I want to thank you personally on behalf of the whole nation."
