Israel’s energy minister, Israel Katz, confirmed the country is blocking water, electricity and fuel from entering Gaza, warning that Israel will “continue to tighten the siege until the Hamas threat…is removed".
In a post to X, Katz wrote, "For years we supplied Gaza with electricity, water and fuel. Instead of saying thank you, they sent thousands of human animals to slaughter, murder, rape and kidnap babies, women and the elderly.
That’s why we decided to stop the flow of water, electricity and fuel and now their local power station has collapsed and there is no electricity in Gaza."
Rocket fire from Lebanon into Israel worrisome -White House's Kirby
The United States is watching developments on the Lebanon-Israel border closely and does not want to see the conflict widened or expanded, White House national security spokesman John Kirby said on Wednesday.
"We have seen rocket fire coming from southern Lebanon ... into northern Israel. We obviously are watching this with great concern. We don't want to see this conflict widened or expanded," Kirby said in an interview with MSNBC.
He said he does not believe it is in Israel's interest to have a second front to fight and defend.

The United States is continuing to monitor the situation in Israel, US President Joe Biden said, adding that he had spoken with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier on Wednesday, the fourth call between the two leaders in recent days.
Arab league chief calls for immediate ceasefire
The Arab League chief on Wednesday called for an immediate cease-fire in the war between Israel and the Palestinian militants in Gaza.
Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the secretary general of the Cairo-based organization, warned about “serious possibilities" of further escalation and an expansion of fighting, in an apparent reference to the Lebanese Hezbollah militant groups.
“No one wanted such kind of escalation ... I completely refuse any violence against civilians without equivocation," he said.
Aboul Gheit’s comments came at the opening of an emergency meeting an emergency meeting of the Arab foreign ministers in the Egyptian capital on the Israel-Gaza war.

Britain's King Charles is appalled by the "barbaric acts of terrorism" in Israel, a Buckingham Palace spokesperson said on Wednesday, following attacks by the Palestinian militant group Hamas.

North Israel warns of possible infiltration from Lebanon
Residents of North Israel have been asked to take shelter by the Israeli Defense Forces saying ‘hostile aircraft intrusion in northern Israel’.
According to AL Jazeera, at least 15 paragliders have crossed the border, allegedly from Lebanon into Israel.
Residents in that area, along the border with Lebanon, have been told to go into shelters. If that is the case, that would be a repeat of what happened a few days ago when paragliders flew across that fence from Gaza.

At least 1,100 Palestinians, including 326 children, have been killed since Saturday, Gaza’s health ministry said.
The total number of people injured stands at 5,339.
A previous update from the Gaza health ministry on Wednesday morning put the death toll at 1,055 Palestinians and 5,184 wounded.
100 newborns, 1,100 dialysis patients face survival threat in Gaza
As Gaza faces darkness without electricity, as the only power plant shuts down owing to lack of fuel, doctors in the bombarded city told Al Jazeera that there are currently 100 newborn babies relying on medical equipment currently in Gaza.
The doctor has said that there are power generators that they could only provide power to the hospitals “maximum a few days".
The doctor also said there were about 1,100 patients who rely on dialysis machines for survival in Gaza, saying the Israeli siege amounts to “mass killing".
