Prominent leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Jamshed Cheema, and his wife Musarrat Cheema, have been placed under house arrest as a measure to uphold law and order,

As per a report by ANI, the Rawalpindi commissioner has reportedly issued orders for the house arrest of key leaders from former Prime Minister Imran Khan's party, as stated by Pakistani news channel ARY News. These leaders have been placed under house arrest under section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO).

According to a report by Pakistan-based Geo News, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the former Foreign Minister of Pakistan and PTI Vice Chairman, along with PTI leader Jamshed Cheema and his wife Musarrat Jamshed Cheema, has been placed under house arrest for a period of 15 days.

Interestingly, Shah Mahmood Qureshi was rearrested shortly after being released from Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail on Tuesday.

Following her release, party leader Musarrat Jamshed Cheema was promptly rearrested, similar to Shah Mahmood Qureshi, as reported. Prior to his rearrest, Qureshi made a statement outside the jail, emphasizing his continued affiliation with the PTI and his commitment to remaining part of the party.

The police have arrested the former foreign minister in connection with cases related to riots and arson incidents in the provinces of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
