Four individuals were tragically shot and killed on Monday night in Philadelphia, as confirmed by the local police.
Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw stated during a news conference that two additional individuals sustained injuries, while emphasising that all the victims were male.
Authorities have taken a suspect into custody in relation to the incident.
This unfortunate event marks the 29th mass killing in the United States in 2023, as documented by a collaborative database maintained by The Associated Press, USA Today, and Northeastern University.
Alarmingly, this year has witnessed the highest number of mass killings and associated deaths ever recorded at this point in time. Since 2006, the database reveals over 550 incidents of mass killings, resulting in the tragic loss of at least 2,900 lives and leaving over 2,000 people injured.
