Thailand rolled out the new E-Visa facilities in India effective January 1, 2025, according to official Thailand Embassy's post on platform X.

The Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi, on Wednesday, December 11, announced the official implementation of Thailand's Electronic Visa (E-Visa) facilities in India, along with the offline payment mode for people. The embassy posted an order to this effect on its official social media account on X.

According to the embassy, the order on the E-Visa system will be effective from January 1, 2025. “We’re thrilled to announce that Thailand’s e-Visa will be implemented in India from 1 Jan 2025.”

The Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi also announced that there will be a 60-day exemption for Indian passport holders. “However, the 60-day visa exemption for Indian passport holders remains effective,” said the embassy in the post.

The embassy also highlighted that all E-Visa applications must be submitted to the country's official visa website, https://www.thaievisa.go.th/. The Embassy announced the option of offline payment, for which the respective Embassy and Consulate Generals will provide the details.

“Applicants must choose to pay a visa fee for which the respective Embassy and Consulate-Generals will provide details on the offline payment options,” the embassy said.

The order reiterated that the visa fees are non-refundable under all circumstances. “Please note that visa fees are non-refundable under all circumstances,” it said. The Embassy will take approximately 14 days from the date of the Visa fee receipt as the processing time.

Thailand E-Visa Deadline

There will be a deadline for the regular visa application under the current system. Ordinary passport applications submitted via the processing companies will have a deadline of December 16 for submission.

“Ordinary passport applications submitted at the designated visa processing companies will be accepted until 16 December 2024,” as per the order.

Passports with Diplomatic and official clearance submitted at the Embassy or the Consulate-General will be accepted until December 24. According to the embassy order released on Wednesday, the 60-day visa exemption for ordinary passport holders will remain effective until further announcement.
