Tributes have poured in from across the world at the death anniversary of Harambe. The gorilla was showing dead at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden back in 2016.
A three-year-old boy climbed into a gorilla enclosure and he was quickly taken by Harambe and dragged around. A zoo staff member reacted quickly to save the child's life and decided to shoot the animal in the hopes it would rapidly de-escalate the situation.
The whole situation unfolded in front of horrified people and it was also recorded and broadcast around the world.
A twitter user David Blanch said that Harambe was the glue that held society together.
Many Twitter user reacted with 'One of the greats' in his tweet.
Ian Crossland in his tweet said, "RIP #Harambe. They put you in a cage and killed you for trying to protect a child. I will #NeverForget."
A twitter user Alx tweeted,"Seven Years Ago Today we lost Harambe."
