Twitter was hit with global outage on Saturday with thousands of users complaining about the social media platform not refreshing their tweets. The users of Twitter said that the platform is throwing the ‘cannot retrieve tweets’ error repeatedly. This is the third such outage this year the Elon Musk-led platform faced.

Down Detector, the website that tracks the disruptions in online services said that around 4,000 users have announced the issues with the functioning of Twitter. The company has not released any statement on the outages till now.

This is the third time this year that Twitter faced a global outage as in March 2023, the social media platform experienced glitches in its systems and many links stopped working suddenly. Similarly, in February this year, many global users of Twitter couldn't operate the basic things on their accounts like tweeting, following someone, direct message, etc.

Twitter outage sparks meme fest

As the Twitter went down for thousands of users of Saturday, the meme-makers became active and shared several hilarious memes on social media platforms. Here are some memes doing rounds on social media platforms after Twitter outage.

The origin and duration of the issues remain uncertain, and the company has refrained from providing any clarification on the matter. The Twitter outage was initially reported on Down Detector at 12:19 pm and has persisted throughout the day, causing frustration among users as the problems persist three hours later.

Twitter is going through some changes as recently it mandatory to create an account for viewing tweets. The move was called a “temporary emergency measure” by Elon Musk

Unregistered individuals attempting to access content on Twitter will be prompted to either create a new account or authenticate themselves with an existing account in order to view their preferred tweets. It should be noted that as of Friday, users were still able to access tweets that were either displayed in Google search results or embedded within other websites.
