The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) strongly condemned Iran's alleged drone attack on Bahrain, calling it "treacherous."

GCC Secretary-General Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi expressed his "strongest condemnation and denunciation" of the alleged drone attacks on Bahrain.

The GCC said Iran continues to target civilian facilities and vital infrastructure, despite ongoing regional and international efforts to ease tensions.

The GCC said the alleged attacks threaten broader efforts aimed at achieving security and stability in the Gulf and the Middle East.

The Gulf Cooperation Council comprises Bahrain, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.

“America, by supporting the actions of its proxy forces in the region, has violated the first article of the memorandum of understanding, and by continuing to create tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, has violated the fifth article. The response to the violation of any article of the memorandum of understanding will be swift and decisive,” Mohsen Rezaei, a military adviser to Iran’s supreme leader and former commander of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, wrote on X. A tanker was struck while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, according to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO).

The incident is the latest maritime security event in the Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil shipping route.

The vessel was hit by an unidentified projectile, the tanker captain reported.

UKMTO confirmed the ship's bridge sustained damage in the incident.

All crew members are safe, with no injuries reported.

No environmental pollution or oil spill has been reported so far.

Relevant maritime authorities have launched an investigation into the attack.

Hezbollah chief rejects Israel-Lebanon framework agreement, calling it "null."

Hezbollah says the agreement should be replaced by an Iran-US memorandum.

The group's leader urged the Lebanese government to abandon the Israel-Lebanon framework agreement.

Israel and Lebanon signed the framework agreement in Washington on Friday after several days of talks aimed at ending hostilities between Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah.

Both sides described the agreement as an initial step, rather than a final peace deal.

Lebanese Ambassador Nada Moawad and Israeli Ambassador Yechiel Leiter signed the trilateral document with the United States at the US State Department.

The agreement provides for Israel's return to its borders once threats to its citizens are removed.

It also establishes a trilateral Military Coordination Group for Lebanon, facilitated by the United States, to oversee security coordination.

Israeli military launches airstrike in southern Lebanon's Nabatieh area on Saturday.

Hours after Iran responded to the US strikes, Tehran has pushed back against the US accusation that the drone attack breached the ceasefire.

Ebrahim Azizi, head of the Iranian parliament’s national security commission, reiterated the country's position and stressed Iran’s authority over the Strait of Hormuz.

“The Strait of Hormuz is governed by Iran, so: Respect the rules,” Azizi wrote on social media, adding that others should “not mistake control for escalation.”

Bahrain accused Iran on Saturday of launching a new drone attack targeting the island nation.

The attacks are the most significant test yet to an interim understanding reached a week ago by the two countries to begin working to end their monthslong war and reopen the pivotal waterway.

Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced the US strikes on multiple sites along the country's southern coastline, accusing Washington of breaching the UN Charter as well as the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at ending the conflict, reported Al Jazeera.

The ministry said the attacks targeted coastal surveillance facilities and reaffirmed Iran's right to self-defence, adding that its armed forces had launched retaliatory strikes against US-linked targets.

The reported attack came after Israel and Lebanon signed a "framework agreement" in Washington, which US Secretary of State Marco Rubio described as a "first step" in the negotiations.

Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif has emphasised the significance of the freedom of navigation during an address at the Pakistan Naval Academy this morning, as per Al Jazeera.

“The evolving regional situation has highlighted more than anything else the importance of maritime security for the global economy and international supply chains,” he stated.

“Today, the right of free passage and freedom of navigation are no longer luxuries but have become an absolute necessity for the entire world," he added.
