When Roger Federer was denied entry into Wimbledon: Tennis legend reveals funniest story. Watch
I literally told the security I have won this tournament eight times, please believe me, Roger Federer going unrecognised at Wimbledon
Tennis legend Roger Federer, who recently retired from the international circuit, is getting used to the common man's life including being turned away unrecognised at Wimbledon. Revealing the hilarious incident about what had actually happened, the tennis maestro, who won Wimbledon for the maximum number of times, said, ‘I literally told the security I have won this tournament eight times, please believe me.’
Federer took his final tennis bow at September's Laver Cup in London -- he had not played competitively since Wimbledon in 2021 because of a knee injury, which ultimately persuaded him to call time on his glittering career. His last match was a doubles game with long-time friend and rival Rafael Nadal at the Laver Cup earlier this year.
