As per a new report by the World Health Organization on Thursday, new coronavirus cases reported globally dropped nearly a quarter in the last week while deaths fell 6% but were still higher in parts of Asia. The United Nations health agency said there were 5.4 million new Covid-19 cases reported last week, a decline of 24% from the previous week, according to AP report. Notably, closer home in India, the daily cases climbed to 12,608 fresh cases on Thursday, taking the country's total tally of Covid-19 cases to 4,42,98,864, according to the Union Health Ministry data.
