Bengaluru: The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) leads in both bypoll constituencies of Tamil Nadu, while the Congress is close to clinching the Kamaraj Nagar seat in Puducherry, according to information by state election authorities.

Muthamilselvan of the AIADMK is leading with 88003 votes in Vikravandi constituency of Tamil Nadu against Pugazhenthi. N of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) who has secured 52393 votes. Muthamilselvan securing 60.656% of the votes as against 36.11 by Pugazhenthi.

Narayanan. V. of the AIADMK is currently leading with 39497 votes in Nanguneri as against 24595 by Manoharan. R of the Congress.

Vikravandi headed to the bypolls after the constituency’s representative K.Rathamani died in June. Nanguneri went to the bypolls after its representative H.Vasanthakumar tendered his resignation in May this year.

The AIADMK managed to add two more seats to its tally that currently stands at 122 as against 100 of the DMK and seven of the Congress in the 235 seater lower house of Tamil Nadu.

A. Johnkumar of the Congress secured 14782 votes Kamaraj Nagar bypolls of Purducherry as against Bouvanesvarane of the All India N.R.Congress who secured 7612 votes.
