‘A criminal is a criminal’: BJP leaders hail Delhi HC order dismissing Arvind Kejriwal's plea against arrest

BJP leaders applaud Delhi High Court for dismissing Arvind Kejriwal's plea. Manoj Tiwari accuses Kejriwal of being the kingpin based on evidence. Sudhanshu Trivedi highlights AAP's ‘shattered arrogance’.

BJP leaders lauded the Delhi High Court on Tuesday as it dismissed a plea filed by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The AAP supremo is set to remain in Tihar jail after the court decreed that there had been ‘no contravention of legal provisions’. Meanwhile AAP leaders have indicated their intention to approach the Supreme Court, dubbing the "so-called excise policy scam" was the "biggest political conspiracy" to finish off the party and Kejriwal.

“A criminal is a criminal. Everyone in the country has to follow the laws of India. Today the Court order has shown the mirror to AAP's gang leader…evidence collected by ED shows that the kingpin is Arvind Kejriwal. AAP stand exposed," tweeted BJP MP Manoj Tiwari.

“Aam Aadmi Party's arrogance has been shattered. The self-proclaimed honest character (of Arvind Kejriwal) has also been shattered by facts and proofs," added Rajya Sabha MP and BJP's spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi.

The Delhi Chief Minister was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21 and remanded in judicial custody at the beginning of April. He currently remains lodged in Tihar jail till April 14.

“Today's order against Kejriwal exposes that he is not staunch honest but he is completely corrupt. There is prima facie material available against him, evidence available against him. He not only formulated the said policy but he was involved in taking kickbacks...There is no room left for the AAP to play victimhood card. Today they must tell us how can Kejriwal continue as chief minister that too from inside Tihar jail?" asked BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla.
