New Delhi: P.K. Mishra, who is currently serving as the additional principal secretary to Narendra Modi, has been appointed as principal secretary to the Prime Minister.
An official statement issued after the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet took the decisio, said Mishra’s elevation is with effect from Wednesday. The fresh appointment was necessitated after Nripendra Misra , Modi’s principal secretary since the beginning of his previous term, stepped down recently.
The committee also appointed P.K. Sinha, currently functioning as officer on special duty in the Prime Minister's office, as principal adviser to the Prime Minister from Wednesday. Both the appointments are co-terminus with the term of the Prime Minister or until further orders, whichever is earlier, according to the statement.
