New Delhi: The growing popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi became further evident after he crossed 30 million followers on social media app Instagram recently.
While Modi has over 30 million followers on Instagram, PM does not follow anyone on the social media app.
"PM @NarendraModi crosses 30 million followers on Instagram. He is the most followed world leader on Instagram ahead of US President Trump as well as former US President Obama. This is yet another testament to his popularity and connect with the youth," tweeted JP Nadda, working president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday.
Modi already has over 50 million followers on Twitter and even the official handle of PMO (Prime Minister's Office) has over 30 million followers.
PM Modi has used the social media to reach out to people, especially youth and women, since he became PM of the country. Modi has started several social media campaigns like 'selfie with daughter' to make people aware of the importance of protection and education of the girl child. PM has also used different social media platforms to make people aware of cleanliness through his Swachh Bharat initiative.
Apart from reaching out to people through social media, Modi has started the initiative of making his council of ministers respond to the queries and problems of common people that are brought to notice on social media platforms.
