Vijayadashami, also known as Dussehra, is a significant Hindu festival that occurs at the conclusion of the nine-day Navaratri celebration. This observance takes place on the tenth day of the Hindu month of Ashvin, which aligns with the seventh month in the Hindu Luni-Solar Calendar.
Typically, the festival falls within the Gregorian calendar months of September and October. Vijayadashami serves as the commencement of preparations for Diwali, a major festival of lights, celebrated approximately twenty days later.
It is worth noting that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was founded on Vijaya Dashami in 1925 by Keshav Hedgewar.
