Union Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Mahendra Nath Pandey Tuesday claimed said “in coming months” about 250,000 new jobs will be created in the information technology sector through the “comprehensive skill Development programme”.
There is a healthy competition in 52 different fields of skill development and training including cloud computing, Internet of things (IOT), Big Data, Machine Learning, Blockchain etc, he said. He, however, did not spell out how these 250,000 numbers will be achieved.
Pandey said majority of the workers should get proper guidance and training to become an advanced and productive workforce, he said while speaking at a function organized by industry body NASSCOM.
Keshav Murugesh, chairman of NASSCOM urged the government to pass the Data Protection Bill in the parliament. He in coming three to four years, 2 million people would be trained in digital technology from the current 0.6 million people.
