Karnataka crisis deepens as Cong MLA still at large

  • The developments come amid the Congress party’s efforts to keep its flock together
  • It has alleged that BJP is attempting to bring down the state government by trying to lure its legislators.

Bengaluru: Karnataka home minister M.B. Patil said on Wednesday that the absconding Congress legislator from Kampli, J.N. Ganesh, would be arrested at the earliest for allegedly assaulting his counterpart from Vijayanagara constituency.

The developments come amid the Congress party’s efforts to keep its flock together.

It has alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is attempting to bring down the state government by trying to lure its legislators.

The Congress party has been trying to contain the damage from the fallout of the alleged assault after pictures of a badly bruised Anand Singh went viral on social media.

On Wednesday, the BJP posted a video of a senior lady police official crying after she was allegedly admonished by tourism minister, Sa Ra Mahesh, while the former was managing security arrangements at the funeral of Sree Sree Sree Sivakumara Swami in Tumakuru on Tuesday.

Chief minister H.D. Kumaraswamy was criticized for defending the minister.
