BAN vs PAK 3rd ODI Highlights: Bangladesh scripted a thrilling 11-run win over Pakistan in the third ODI at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka to seal the series 2-1.
Bangladesh posted a total of 290/5 from 50 overs after being asked to bat by Pakistan in the third ODI in Dhaka on Sunday. Pakistan need 291 runs to win.
Tanzid Hasan Tamim was Bangladesh's top-scorer with a run-a-ball knock of 107. This is his maiden ODI century.
Apart from Tanzid, Litton Das (41) and Towhid Hridoy (48*) also made crucial contributions with the bat.
For Pakistan, Haris Rauf was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/52. Shaheen Afridi picked figures of 1/55 whereas Abrar Ahmed registered figures of 1/49.
In their reply, Pakistan got off to a terrible start and they were restricted to 17/3 at one stage. They were further restricted to 82/5 in the 18th over, but that is where the game changed.
Salman Ali Agha (106) and Saad Masood (38) forged an imporrtant 79-run stand for the sixth wicket, but the Tigers were right back in the game following the dismissal of the latter.
The partnerships kept coming, with Salman and Faheem Ashraf forging 48 runs and then Salman forging another 52-run stand with Shaheen Afridi.
The complexion of the match changed when Salman was dismissed in the 48th over. That left Pakistan in trouble at 261/8, and even though Shaheen kept producing the runs, lack of support from his partner in Haris Rauf hurt the visitors.
Pakistan needed 14 runs to win from the last six balls, but without Salman, the pressure was clearly on Shaheen. All Shaheen could collect were a couple of runs, which meant that Pakistan needed 12 runs to win from the last ball.
In the last ball, Shaheen stepped out of the crease after he looked to heave but missed. Once Shaheen stepped out of the crease, wicketkeeper Litton Das wasted no time in stumping him.
That's all from us as far as this match is concerned. Pakistan fought hard in this chase, but it was always going to be a humgous task, especially after the wicket of Salman Ali Agha.
We enjoyed bringing you LIVE coverage of this, hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. Until next time, it's goodbye and good night!
GAME OVER! Bangladesh have sealed the ODI series 2-1 against Pakistan with a 11-run win in the third ODI in Dhaka. Pakistan have been bowled out for 279, thus failing to chase down a target of 291.
Salman Ali Agha (106) fought hard for the visitors, and was supported by Saad Masood (38) and Shaheen Afridi (37). However, they were just not able to cross the finish line. Shaheen is the last man to be dismissed as he is stumped by Litton Das in the final ball of the match.
This match is going down to the wire. Mustafizur Rahman bowls the 49th over of the run chase. Later on in the over, Mustafizur is however struck on his left knee, and he looks to be in trouble. He is back on his feet, and he gets a wicket in his last ball!
Haris Rauf is out. Pakistan need 14 runs to win from six balls with just one wicket remaining.
PAK 277/9 (49 overs; Target 291)
OUT! Taskin Ahmed removes Salman Ali Agha for 106. Salman is caught by Najmul Hossain Shanto at deep midwicket. Is this the end of Pakistan's hopes? Pakistan need 28 runs to win from 12 balls.
Nahid Rana bowls his final over. Shaheen Afridi beats the fielder at long-on to collect a boundary.
Will that prove to be costly? The fielder there made a diving effort, but failed to catch hold of the ball. Six runs from the over. Pakistan need 33 runs to win from 18 balls.
CENTURY! A hard-fought century for Salman Ali Agha, who has batted well under pressure. Pakistan's job, however, is not done yet in the run chase. Nine runs from the over. Pakistan need 45 runs to win from 30 balls.
PAK 246/7 (45 overs)
Mustafizur Rahman bowls his eighth over. Shaheeen Afridi collects an important boundary, and Pakistan need more of these. Six runs come from the 44th over of the chase. Pakistan need 54 more runs from 36 balls.
PAK 237/7 (44 overs; Target 291)
Pakistan seemed to be fighting back in this chase, but Taskin Ahmed has struc k once again with another wicket. This time, he cleans up Faheem Ashraf for nine runs.
PAK 222/7 (41.1 overs; Target 291)
Rishad Hossain continues. It's an over to forget for him as Salman Ali Agha punishes him for a four and a six.
The partnership between Faheem Ashraf and Salman Agha is now more than 40 runs, and Bangladesh need to break this stand before it is too late.
202/6 (38 overs; Target 291)
Pakistan continue to be in a precarious position as Mehidy Hasan Miraz continues. The Bangladesh skipper concedes just one run from the over. Pakistan need another 117 runs to win from 90 balls.
PAK 174/6 (35 overs; Target 291)
OUT! There's more trouble for Pakistan as Saad Masood is dismissed. Mustafuzur Rahman is the bowler who cleans him up. Masood was looking to heave across the line but he misses it completely.
Right. It's spin from both ends as Mehidy Hasan Miraz continues. Salman Agha and Saad Masood bring up their 50-run stand for the sixth wicket. Just a single off Salman Agha in the over.
PAK 132/5 (27 overs; Target 291)
Midway through the chase, Pakistan are 123/5 after 25 overs. Taskin Ahmed, Nahid Rana and Mustafizur Rahman have all been exceptional, and at the moment, it looks like Bangladesh have the upper hand.
Pakistan need to make sure they don't lose any more wickets, and perhaps, they also need at least a couple of good overs.
Bangladesh have kept Pakistan' run rate in check so far. Just four runs come from Mehidy Hasan Miraz's fourth over. Rishad Hossain bowls from the other end and concedes a boundary.
Saad Masood was the batter who hit the boundary as he got a top edge that flew over the fine leg region. Pakistan need at least one or two boundaries every over to have any hope of winning this match. And most importantly, they shouldn't lose any more wickets.
PAK 110/5 (22 overs; Target 291)
OUT! Mustafizur Rahman removes Abdul Samad for 34. It was a cross-seam delivery from Mustafizur, and Samad looked to defend. However, he nicks this one towards wicketkeeper Litton Das as Pakistan lose another wicket.
PAK 92/5 (19 overs; Target 291)
Salman Agha, who scored 64 runs in the second ODI, is the batter at No.6. He is off the mark with a single by tapping the ball towards the off-side. Just two runs come off Nahid Rana's sixth over.
PAK 70/4 (16 overs; Target 291)
OUT! Another one bites the dust as Nahid Rana cleans up Ghazi Ghori to leave Pakistan in trouble. It was a good length ball, Ghori looks to dab the ball but ends up getting a thick inside edge that crashes onto the stumps.
PAK 67/4 (14 overs; Target 291)
Taskin Ahmed returns to the attack for Bangladesh. Ghazi Ghori collects Pakistan's first boundary in 21 deliveries as he hits one straight down the ground for four runs. A dozen runs come from the over.
PAK 58/3 (12 overs; Target 291)
Nahid Rana returns to the attack to bowl his third over, and it is a tidy one as he concedes just one run. After having lost three quick wickets, Pakistan are under pressure in this chase.
However, it will be important for Abdul Samad and Ghazi Ghori to play some sensible cricket and not go for risky shots.
PAK 42/3 (9 overs; Target 291)
Change of bowling as Mustafizur Rahman is introduced into the attack. He concedes just two runs in his first over with Abdul Samad and Ghazi Ghori picking a single each. Pakistan remain in a precarious position after the loss pf quick wickets, and this partnership will be crucial for them.
PAK 37/3 (6 overs; Target 291)
OUT! What is happening to Pakistan? They lost both their openers early, and now they have lost Mohammad Rizwan, one of their most reputed batters. Taskin Ahmed gets his second wicket as Rizwan is clean bowled. Rizwan was looking to defend, but the ball went through the bat-pad gap to dismantle the off-stump.
PAK 17/3 (3 overs; Target 291)
Maaz Sadaqat, Pakistan's hero of the second ODI, makes his long walk back to the pavilion as he is dismissed by Nahid Rana. It was a short ball from Rana, and the ball hit Sadaqat's glove before the ball flew towards wicketkeeper Litton Das.
PAK 16/2 (2 overs; Target 291)
OUT! Pakistan have lost Sahibzada Farhan early on in their run chase as Taskin Ahmed strikes for Bangladesh. Farhan looks to play it towards the off side, but ends up getting an outside edge towards Litton Das, the wicketkeeper.
PAK 6/1 (1 over; Target 291)
INNINGS BREAK! Bangladesh have posted 290/5 from 50 overs on the back of a century from Tanzid Hasan Tamim. Apart from Tanzid, Litton Das (41) and Towhid Hridoy (48*) played worthy knocks for the hosts. Haris Rauf was the pick of the Pakistan bowlers with figures of 3/52 in 10 overs.
Pakistan need 291 runs to win. We will be back with LIVE coverage of the chase shortly.
A total of 300 looks difficult for Bangladesh at the moment, but right now, their main motive will be to post as much a big total as possible. The hosts have Towhid Hridoy batting on 40 along with Afif Hossain.
Litton Das and Towhid Hridoy had forged a 58-run stand for the fourth wicket in the second ODI, and so far, the two of them have combined more than 40 runs for the fourth wicket. Bangladesh will be looking for a total around 280-290, if 300 isn't possible.
BAN 243/3 (44 overs)
OUT! Pakistan have got the most important wicket of Tanzid Hasan Tamim, who is dismissed for 107. Facing Abrar Ahmed, Tanzid looks to cut it away but finds Shaheen Afridi with the catch at cover.
BAN 197/3 (37 overs)
CENTURY! Tanzid Hasan Tamim slams his maiden ODI century, reaching the milestone with a lofted six over the long-off fence. He reaches the milestone in 98 balls, hitting six fours and seven sixes.
BAN 179/2 (34 overs)
OUT! Najmul Hossain Shanto is struck LBW by Haris Rauf. Najmul has a discussion with Tanzid Hasan Tamim, and opts for the review. There is no spike in UltraEdge, but the ball is hitting the leg stump, and Najmul has to make the long walk back.
BAN 160/2 (30 overs)
Najmul Hossain Shanto has joined Tanzid Hasan Tanim in the middle, and the duo have forged more than 30 runs for the second wicket so far. Tanzid, who is not out on 75, is looking in good touch. Will he get to a century?
BAN 138/1 (25 overs)
OUT! Pakistan get the breakthrough as Shaheen Shah Afridi removes Saif Hassan for 36. Saif charges down the track and looks to heave, but he completely misses on this occasion as the ball rattles the stumps.
BAN 109/1 (19 overs)
Bangladesh openers Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Saif Hassan are keeping their team's scoreboard ticking as Pakistan are unable to find a breakthrough.
Just three runs from Abrar Ahmed's fifth over, but the visitors need at least a couple of quick wickets. Tanzid Hasan Tamim gets his fifty, his second half-century in three ODIs.
BAN 87/0 (16 overs)
Pakistan will be desperate for a breakthrough now. Tanzid Hasan Tamim is looking in excellent touch, whereas Saif Hassan is supporting him well from the other end. An expensive third over from Abrar Ahmed as 11 runs come from it, with a four and a six in the over.
BAN 61/0 (11 overs)
Spinner Abrar Ahmed has been introduced into the attack. It's a tidy over from Abrar Ahmed as just two runs come from it. However, Pakistan need wickets now that Saif and Tanzid have got off to a strong start.
BAN 40/0 (7 overs)
Tanzid Hasan Tamim, who scored an unbeaten 67 in the first ODI, is looking in good touch at the moment. He has so far scored 26 runs from 21 balls, hitting two fours and as many sixes. Nine runs come off Haris Rauf's third over.
BAN 38/0 (6 overs)
Haris Rauf continues. Just the boundary off Tanzid Hasan Tamim in the over, with Tanzid punching over deep midwicket for four runs. He collected that boundary in the first ball of the over, but Rauf followed it up with five. A decent over for Rauf, given that he had conceded 10 runs in the first over.
BAN 22/0 (4 overs)
Haris Rauf is into the attack from the other end. He goes for 10 runs in his first over, with Tanzid Hasan Tamim hitting a four and a six as Bangladesh collect their first couple of boundaries in this match.
The hosts will be looking to post a strong total, after having endured a poor batting display in the second ODI.
Shaheen returns to bowl the third over of the match and goes for six runs.
BAN 18/0 (3 overs)
A tidy start from Shaheen Afridi as he goes for just two runs in his first over. Both of Bangladesh's openers, Saif Hassan and Tanzid Hasan Tamim are off the mark with their respective singles.
