It’s been a cracking week of Test cricket with three cracking Test matches witnessed by aficionados of the game.

There were some remarkable performances from players in all the three matches on three different continents. Those performances have been recognized by International Cricket Council (ICC) in their latest rankings.

Ben Stokes probably provided the best performance in the last week, a performance that will be remembered for years and one which puts his name among the very best the game has seen.

Thanks to his unbeaten 135, Stokes is now number 13 in the ranking for batsmen, a jump of full 13 places. In light of his batting heroics it’s easy to forget his marathon bowling spell in the match, a match in which he picked up four wickets and by dint of those wickets he is now number two in the list of all-rounders.

Jasprit Bumrah bowled brilliantly in the second innings of the first Test at Antigua picking up 5/7 in the second innings and with that spell he has entered the list of top 10 bowlers of the game.

As far as the batsman are concerned, Tom Latham moved up 8 spots to number eight in the rankings after his brilliant 154 in New Zealand’s demolition of Sri Lanka in Colombo.

Virat Kohli continues to be the number one Test batsman in the world and Pat Cummins the number one bowler in the world.
