Former India cricketer Yurvaj Singh has opened up like never before as he has apologised to former captains Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni for the repeated remarks made by his father against them.

"I would like to apologise to Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni," Yuvraj said in a taser video uploaded by SportsTak on their YouTube channel.

The full episode of the Yuvraj Singh interview is set to be released soon. Over the years, Yograj Singh, Yuvraj's father, has repeatedly criticised MS Dhoni for dropping his son from the Indian team.

Time and again, Yograj has made the same comments on Dhoni, albeit in different ways. “I have told dad that it’s not ok," Yuvraj can be seen saying in the two-minute teaser, possibly referring to his father's comments on MS Dhoni and Kapil Dev.

When Yograj Singh spoke against Kapil Dev

Yograj Singh's anger towards MS Dhoni has been known for quite a long time now, but last year, he created yet another controversy when he made allegations against Kapil Dev.

Yograj accused Kapil Dev for damaging his cricket career, and said that the World Cup-winning former India skipper was responsible for him being dropped from the Indian team in the early 1980s. When Kapil Dev was asked about Yograj early in 2025, he jokingly replied, asking: "Kaun hai? Kaun hai? Kiski baat kar rahe ho? (Who is he? Who is he? Whom are you talking about?" A paparazzo then replied, saying that he was referring to Yograj Singh. "Acchaa, aur kuch? (Anything else)," replied Kapil Dev.

During an episode of ‘Unfiltered by Samdish’ last year, Yograj revealed that he once took his pistol out and went to Kapil Dev's house.

“When Kapil Dev became captain of India, North Zone, and Haryana, he dropped me for no reason. My wife wanted me to ask Kapil questions. I told her that I would teach this bloody man a lesson," Yograj said.

“I took my pistol out; I went to Kapil’s house in Sector 9. He came out with his mother. I abused him a dozen times. I told him because of you I have lost a friend and what you have done, you will pay for it. I told him, ‘I want to put a bullet through your head, but I am not doing it because you have a very pious mother who is standing here.’ I told Shabnam, ‘Let’s go'," he had added.

Yograj, however, seems to have changed his stance on Dhoni recently, claiming that the legendary India skipper still has everything in him. “Absolutely. I admire him. He's still playing. He should keep on playing for another 10 years. Because he has proved his fitness,” he told InsideSport in an interview.

” Guy's discipline, guy's dedication. I still see the size of his forearm, so why not? Who the hell are people going to tell him to retire? No," he added.

This comes after former India selector Sandeep Patil said that Yuvraj Singh's omission from the Indian team was not Dhoni's decision, but that of the selectors. Yuvraj had even revealed that Dhoni had given him clarity on his future in 2017 during his comeback, stating that the team management wasn't looking at Yuvraj as part of the future plans. This also prompted Yuvraj to retire from international cricket in 2019.
