For India, Rohit Sharma hit his consecutive half century (57 off 39 balls) and Suryakumar Yadav scored 47 of 36 balls. Hardik scored 23 important runs.
While for England, Chris Jordan took three wickets, while Reece Topley, Jofra Archer, Sam Curran and Adil Rashid picked one wicket each.
Earlier, with rains tampering the mood in Guyana, the toss was delayed a bit following a wet ground. After inspection by the umpires, the toss for the second semi-finals between India and England took place at 8.50 pm, while the match bagan from 9.15 pm IST at Guyana. Later, rain interrupted the match again and it was started 11.10 pm (IST). At that time, India had scored 65/2 in 8 overs.

An ICC spokesperson while explaining the reasoning behind this decision was quoted by Hindustan Times as saying, "For performance reasons, to ensure teams do not have to 'play-travel-play' on consecutive days, the decision was taken to allocate the additional time for the second semi-final immediately post the game because the game is a 10.30am start, whilst the first semi-final is an evening start, which means it is not feasible to play all additional time on the same day,"
India vs England Live: Writing in a column for Daily Mail, Hussain wrote, "If Rohit gets India off to a flyer, and Virat Kohli - who’s been short of runs - rises to the big occasion, England could be in trouble. But whatever India throw at them, Buttler’s team won’t panic. And that alone gives England a chance of reaching another World Cup final - even though they’ll need to be at their absolute best to win," he wrote in his column for DailyMail.
"Their challenge will be to stay in the game for as long as possible, because India have only been tested once so far in this World Cup, by Pakistan. They may also have to adapt to conditions, and decide that going for hell for leather isn’t the way to play," the former English batter added.
India vs England Live: Speaking to media ahead of semi-final clash, England head coach Matthew Mott said, "Probably the only thing that we've discussed is that we feel that they're a very different team to that semi-final. The way that they've approached it in the last couple of years is certainly taking the game on extremely hard in the power play," said Mott on the eve of the match.
“Rohit (Sharma) with the bat has led the way extremely well and shown leadership in that department, as has Jos Buttler for us. But I think it presents a really unique challenge for us. It's a venue we don't know well." Mott added.
