“But that is ok, it is the ICC and Cricket West Indies' headache to get us to the next venue. We will focus on how we can play this game well and get the result in our favour. Two good cricket teams are going to play so it's going to be a great game," the Indian skipper added
India vs England Live: Will India go through to the final if rain washed out the match today? ICC explains
India vs England Live: India will progress to the final of T20 World Cup 2024 if rain decides to play spoilsport during 2nd semi-final clash today.
An ICC spokesperson while explaining the reasoning behind this decision was quoted by Hindustan Times as saying, "For performance reasons, to ensure teams do not have to 'play-travel-play' on consecutive days, the decision was taken to allocate the additional time for the second semi-final immediately post the game because the game is a 10.30am start, whilst the first semi-final is an evening start, which means it is not feasible to play all additional time on the same day,"
India vs England Live: ‘Buttler’s team won't panic' says Former England skipper Naseer Hussain
India vs England Live: Writing in a column for Daily Mail, Hussain wrote, "If Rohit gets India off to a flyer, and Virat Kohli - who’s been short of runs - rises to the big occasion, England could be in trouble. But whatever India throw at them, Buttler’s team won’t panic. And that alone gives England a chance of reaching another World Cup final - even though they’ll need to be at their absolute best to win," he wrote in his column for DailyMail.
"Their challenge will be to stay in the game for as long as possible, because India have only been tested once so far in this World Cup, by Pakistan. They may also have to adapt to conditions, and decide that going for hell for leather isn’t the way to play," the former English batter added.
India vs England Live: ‘India are very different team to last semi-final’ says England coach
India vs England Live: Speaking to media ahead of semi-final clash, England head coach Matthew Mott said, "Probably the only thing that we've discussed is that we feel that they're a very different team to that semi-final. The way that they've approached it in the last couple of years is certainly taking the game on extremely hard in the power play," said Mott on the eve of the match.
“Rohit (Sharma) with the bat has led the way extremely well and shown leadership in that department, as has Jos Buttler for us. But I think it presents a really unique challenge for us. It's a venue we don't know well." Mott added.
India vs England Live: Kapil Dev's advice to team India; ‘everyone has to chip in’
India vs England Live: In an interaction with PTI, Kapil Dev said, "Why talk about only Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, or Kuldeep Yadav? Everybody has a role to play. Their job is to win the tournament,"
"To win a match, an odd person can come out, but to win a tournament everybody has to work together. If we are going to depend on Bumrah or Arshdeep, then you are going to lose it… Let's talk about the team. That gives you a better perspective rather than the odd player. Yes main player is there and we can go around him. But everybody has to chip in to win the World Cup," he added.
India vs England Live: Jasprit Bumrah is the best cricketer in the world, says Paul Collingwood
India vs England Live: Speaking at the Star Sports Press room, Colingwood said, "I think if you had a piece of paper and had to pick a cricket team, in any form of the game, Jasprit Bumrah would be the first name going on that list right at the top. It is as simple as that. He is the best cricketer in the world at this moment. The skill level, the pace, and the deception that he has in T20 cricket are incredible."
“You saw Travis Head get after Bumrah a couple of times, in the Australia match. And the impact it has if the opposition takes down your spearhead could dishearten the Indian cricket team. So that is an approach that England may take, but it is a risky one because we know how skillful and how many wickets Bumrah can take," the former England skipper added
India vs England Live: ‘Hopefully we will win the world cup’ says Ishant Sharma
India vs England Live: Speaking on Disney+ Hotstar's Caught and Bold show, Ishant said, "The team's exceptional performance throughout the tournament has been commendable can be seen in us winning six games in a row. It was a stellar performance by the boys. Rohit's knock of 92 off just 41 balls was a masterclass, he completely dismantled the Australian bowlers with other batters also giving him the required support. We perfectly executed our plans,"
"Our bowlers bowled well with Arshdeep taking three important wickets including that of the dangerous David Warner. Along with batting, Rohit Sharma deserves to get plaudits for his brilliant captaincy against Australia for the trap he set up with Bumrah to get Travis Head out ending his onslaught and getting us over the line. It was enthralling to see India dominating Australia. Hopefully, we will continue the good form and clinch the ICC Men's T20 World Cup this year,"
