The first Group 1 match started on 22 February between India and England. South Africa are 117 for 4 after 12.2 overs in their Super 8 clash against India. The Proteas chose to bat first and are scoring at a strong run rate of 9.49.
David Miller is leading the charge with an unbeaten 46 off 25 balls, striking 6 fours and 2 sixes. Dewald Brevis also played a quick knock of 45 from 29 balls before being dismissed by Shivam Dube.
Earlier, Quinton de Kock (6), Aiden Markram (4) and Ryan Rickelton (7) fell cheaply. Both Dube and Hardik Pandya bowled a no-ball each, worsening Team India’s bowling performance.
For India, Jasprit Bumrah has been the standout bowler, picking up 2 wickets for just 7 runs in 2 overs. Arshdeep Singh and Shivam Dube have taken 1 wicket each. Varun Chakaravarthy has been unusually expensive. He conceded 39 runs in his 3 overs.
South Africa still have wickets in hand, with Miller looking dangerous at the crease as they aim for a big total.
