IPL 2025: Shreya Ghoshal, Disha Patani, Karan Aujla to perform on opening day at Eden Gardens

IPL 2025 opening ceremony: The Indian Premier League is back with another season, and like every year, IPL 2025 too will kick off with a star-studded opening ceremony.

According to media reports, Bollywood playback singer Shreya Ghoshal, actress Disha Patani, and Punjabi pop singer Karan Aujla are set to perform on the opening day of IPL 2025 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on March 22. However, there is no official confirmation of this yet.

Last season, actors Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, and singers Sonu Nigam and AR Rahman were the key performers at IPL. Renowned Swedish DJ and record producer DJ Axwell also performed during the mid-innings break.

IPL 2024 opening ceremony: Which teams are playing?

The defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will face Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the inaugural match of IPL 2025 at the Eden Gardens stadium in Kolkata on March 22.

The match is scheduled to start at 7:30 pm IST.

IPL 2024: When will the Opening Ceremony take place?

The opening ceremony of IPL 2025 is expected to begin around 6:30 pm IST, before the inaugural match of the 18th season on March 22. The ceremony will likely feature stars like Shreya Ghoshal, Disha Patani, and Karan Aujla.

The event will be broadcast via the Star Sports networks and live-streamed via the JioHotstar app and website.

Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) President Snehasish Ganguly said the time slot for the IPL opening ceremony has been set at 25 minutes, ensuring a concise yet entertaining prelude to the match.

While details about the performers remain unconfirmed, Ganguly assured that it will be a grand affair.

"We will have an opening ceremony, though we don't know who all are performing yet. A written confirmation is not there, but definitely, it will be a good opening ceremony as usual. Overall, it will be a beautiful IPL opening day for the people of Kolkata," Ganguly said.
