"It’s a great moment for me, I’ve done a lot of hard work in the past. But the credit also must go to team management for believing in me. I was a bit cautious, the captain told me to bowl in the right areas. He told me to be consistent and to focus on my own performance so credit to the captain. I didn’t look at the runs. Wicket was turning a bit, I just tried to play straight. I’ve always batted at no 8 so a great moment for me to bat at the top of the order. They tried me at the top of the order in the last few matches and it’s a great moment for me," says Mehedi Hasan Miraz.

Bangladesh vs Afghanistan LIVE: Bangladesh loses Litton Das Fazalhaq Farooqi. Najmul Hossain Shanto walks in. Bangladesh scored 27/2 in 7 overs.
There is no bowling change yet for Afghanistan as Mujeeb continues from the other end. Just 2 runs this over.
After an early blow, Bangladesh look to settle down. Just 3 off the Fazal's over. The score stands at 22/1 after 5 overs.
An agile throw from Najibullah Zadran sends Tanzid Hasan home. Mehidy Hasan, who was brilliant with the ball, comes at number 3.
Here comes a tight over from Mujeeb, only a couple of runs from it. One tight appeal for a LBW did not get the umpire's nod. It looked really close though.
Afghan bowlers are hardly making lives more difficult for Bangladesh openers at the moment. Everything seems breezy as the batters take time to settle down.
It's spin for Afghanistan in the second over itself. Mujeeb Ur Rahman comes to bowl after two Bangladeshi spinners claimed six wickets in the first innings. However, Mujeeb gets hit for a four off his second delivery itself. Singles follow. Then, there is another four.
Fazalhaq Farooqi bowls the first over of the match for Afghanistan. Tanzid Hasan steps out on the very second ball and misses it. He plays and misses the third delivery as well. Afghan fielders look all pumped up in their body language so far. Gurbaz shows athleticism by saving a wide from going to the boundary. Finally, Tanzid scores the first boundary of the Bangladesh innings.
Litton Das and Tanzid Hasan have a moderate score to chase in front of them. While it looks pretty easy for Bangladesh on paper, Afghanistan have the capability to surprise with their bowling power.
“What did Afghanistan do wrong? Everything! What could they have done better? Everything!" said Nasser Hussain after the first innings.
The former England skipper said he wondered how many of those wickets had actually been taken by Bangladeshi bowlers. Those were rather gifted to them, he added.
Taskin Ahmed took one wicket for 32 runs in his 6 overs. Shoriful Islam took two wickets for 34 runs in his 6.2 overs. Mustafizur Rahman took one for 28 and Mahmudullah went wicket-less in his one over.
Shakib Al Hasan took the first two wickets to give Bangladesh early breaks. He eventually finished off with 30/3. Mehidy had the best figures, with 25/3 and three maiden overs.
After initially struggling, Shoriful finishes off his spell with 2 wickets for 34 in his 6.2 overs. Afghanistan are all out for 156.
The last men standing for Afghanistan are Naveen-ul-Haq and Fazalhaq Farooqi. It seems only a matter of time for Bangladesh to wrap up the first innings now.
Miraz claims his third wicket.
Shoriful claims his first wicket. AFG are at 156/8 after 36 overs.
Azmatullah Omarzai's outside edge goes to his stumps. Afghanistan's score now looks feeble at 156/8.
sah eHMujeeb Ur Rahman joins Azmat, who is still fighting for his team. Azmat has looked good so far in his defence and in attack. He has scored five boundaries so far for his 23 off 19. AFG are 156/6 after 35 overs.
Rashid Khan, probably Afghanistan's last hope, is out! Miraz takes his wicket. Khan goes for 9 off 16.
It's time for Shoriful to better his figures. In his first four overs, he gave out 29 runs without taking any wickets. He is the only bowler, except Mahmudullah who has bowled just one over, without any wickets. Rashid Khan hits a four off Shoriful. AFG 150/6 after 34 overs
Shakib is bowling brilliantly at the moment. He gives just three singles off the over. AFG are at 145/6 after 33 overs.
Rashid Khan has Azmatullah Omarzai's support at the moment. The pitch is still offering some pace and bounce. Azmat hits another four, this time off Taskin. AFG are now 142/6 after 32 overs.
Bangladesh cannot afford to be complacent at the moment. Was it complacency that allowed a misfield go for a boundary? Afghanistan, on the other hand, now depend solely on Rashid Khan. Rashid, on his best days, can perform miracles, everyone knows that. The over ends with another four. AFG
Another wicket is gone for Afghanistan, this time Nabi. Taskin takes the wicket. Nothing seems to be working for the Afghans at the moment. But, there is a long way to go. They have another 20 overs to go. Can they survive until then? The score stands at 126/6 after 30 overs.
Najibullah Zadran goes for 5. Shakib takes his third wicket.
Afghanistan are dealing in singles at the moment. Mustafizur Rahman gives four singles off his seventh over. AFG are 121/4 after 28 overs.
Bangladesh spinners are doing really well. Shakib is attacking with his field placing as well. Miraz continues his excellent spell. He has already taken two maiden overs out of his seven so far. AFG 11674 after 27 overs.
Mustafizur's successful over comes to an end. Bangladesh seem to be tightening the noose. Afghanistan have two new batters: Mohammad Nabi, Najibullah Zadran. The score stands at 112/4 after 26 overs.
