KAR vs PES Commentary

1:21 PM IST Goodbye! That wraps up another spectacular victory for the unstoppable Peshawar Zalmi, but the PSL 2026 action is far from over! The excitement continues immediately as we shift our focus to tonight's highly anticipated blockbuster between the Hyderabad Kingsmen and the Multan Sultans. The buildup is already live, so switch your tabs and join us for the coverage of that game. Cheers!
1:17 PM IST Kusal Mendis is the Player of the Match for his knock of 80 runs from 43 deliveries.
1:16 PM IST Mendis and Yousaf seal the deal - Enter Kushal Mendis and teenager Farhan Yousaf to rescue the chase! Mendis looked like he was in the form of his life, playing silky smooth yet cracking shots all around the ground to notch up a flawless 80 not out off 43 balls. At the other end, young Farhan showed maturity beyond his years, dialing up the intensity to score his maiden PSL fifty. Together, they stitched a phenomenal 119-run unbeaten partnership, cruising past the finish line with 7 balls to spare.
1:15 PM IST Zalmi stumbled early - Peshawar Zalmi came out to chase but quickly found themselves in deep waters. The Kings struck crucial early blows, sending back the big fish, Babar Azam, right at the start. Overseas heavyweights James Vince and Aaron Hardie couldn't survive the pressure either, leaving Zalmi on the backfoot at 67/3 by the 8th over. With the top order back in the dugout, it looked like the unstoppable Peshawar express might finally derail and suffer their first defeat of the season.
1:14 PM IST Roy's masterclass and Raza's hat-trick - Karachi Kings won the toss and decided to put runs on the board, riding heavily on the shoulders of Jason Roy. The opener was the absolute star of the first innings, lighting up the stadium with a brilliant 85 off just 51 deliveries. He didn't get much support until Azam Khan walked in and smashed a rapid 35 off 19 balls. But the real showstopper of the afternoon was Peshawar's teenage pace sensation, Ali Raza. The youngster kept hitting the high and finished the innings with a jaw-dropping hat-trick, restricting Karachi to a target of 183.
