Mumbai Indians have shared a weather update from Wankhede which states there is no rain as off now. 

As of now, the weather looks good above the Wankhede Stadium, although its cloudy. 

The toss at the Wankhede stadium will play a big factor as the captain who wins the toss will opt to bowl first given the overcast conditions on offer.

If Mumbai Indians win tonight, they will qualify for the IPL 2025 playoffs. A win for MI will take them to 16 points. That means even if Delhi Capitals win their final game, they will reach a maximum of 15 points. 

So far, there hasn't been any rain in Mumbai with the temperature as high as 34 degrees. But the whole city has been under the cloud cover since morning. But that doesn't rule out the possibility of rain and thunderstorms tonight. 

The situation doesn't look good in Mumbai.   

The IMD has issued a forecast for Mumbai which said heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds in parts of Maharashtra till May 24, due to a cyclonic circulation likely to form over the east-central Arabian Sea, off the Karnataka coast. It has also issued a yellow alert for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) for the next four days. “Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, light to moderate rainfall and gusty winds (40–50 kmph) are likely at isolated places,” the IMD said in its forecast for Mumbai.

One of the major concerns for Delhi Capitals would be the fitness of KL Rahul. The wicketkeeper-batter was hit on the knees at nets and left the training immediately. It is still unsure whether Rahul would be fit for the game.   

New venues for IPL playoffs. The BCCI on Tuesday announced that Mullanpur will host Qualifier 1 and Eliminator on May 29 and 30 respectively. The IPL 2025 final will be held in Ahmedabad on June 3. It will also host Qualifier 2 on June 1. 

All eyes will be on Mumbai Indians' Rohit Sharma who will take the field at Wankhede for the first time after having a stand named after him. 

Delhi need to win this match to stay in the race. KL Rahul’s brilliant century against GT gave them hope. Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav continue to deliver with the ball.

But, their pacers have failed to impress. Delhi must rediscover their spark to beat a confident Mumbai side at home. A thrilling match awaits.

After over 60 IPL league matches, only one playoff spot is left — and it’s a do-or-die clash between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals. The game at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium could decide which team makes it through. 

Mumbai have made a strong comeback after a slow start and now have 14 points. They have won 4 out of their last 5 matches. 

Delhi, who had a great start, have struggled recently and sit at 13 points. They have lost 4 out of their last 5 matches. 

As per AccuWeather, there is a 90% chance of precipitation in Mumbai tonight as it predicts 12.4 mm rain. In such a scenario, the MI vs DC encounter tonight seems unlikely.  The Indian Meteorological Department’s yellow alert for Mumbai.

GT, RCB and PBKS have already qualified for the playoffs. If Mumbai win this match, they will qualify for the playoffs with 16 points. If Delhi win, the situation will remain uncertain for both teams.

Amid heavy-rain predictions, DC co-owner Parth Jindal has asked IPL authorities to relocate the match to another city.

“Just as the game between RCB vs SRH has been moved out of Bengaluru in the quest for consistency and in the interest of the league, it is my request that tomorrow’s game also be moved to a different location,” he wrote.
