Known as India's ‘little master’ and ‘master blaster’, veteran cricket player Sachin Tendulkar celebrated the team India Master's victory against the West Indies Masters in the first-ever International Masters League tournament with a reminiscing post on social media.
Celebrating the win on X (formerly known as Twitter), captain Sachin Tendulkar declared the India Masters Team “C.H.A.Μ.Ρ.I.Ο.N.S”, adding: “From practice sessions to match days, every moment at the IML 2025 seemed like going back in time (sic).”
“It felt incredible to be back on the pitch alongside some of the game's greatest players. I'm grateful to everyone who made this experience so memorable, including the spectators, organizers, and my India Masters teammates, (sic)” Sachin Tendulkar added.
In another post on the social media platform, Sachin Tendulkar termed the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025 finals match between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals as “nail-biting” and one that “lived up to the ocassion”.
The women's Mumbai Indians franchise won their second WPL title against Delhi Captains on March 16.
“What a final! A nail-biting clash that truly lived up to the occasion. Mumbai Indians clinch their 2nd WPL title with a stellar performance. Congratulations to the entire team, and well played, Delhi Capitals. You played with heart and determination,” Sachin Tendulkar wrote.
Batters Sachin Tendulkar and Ambati Rayudu, and bowlers Vinay Kumar and Shahbaz Nadeem took the India Masters to a stylish finish against the West Indies Masters, with the veteran Indian team winning the first-ever International Masters League (IML 2025) by six wickets on March 16 (Sunday).
The West Indies Masters scored a modest 148/7. In a throwback to his glory days, Sachin Tendulkar unleashing his signature strokes with a brief but memorable 25 runs from 18 balls (2x4, 1x6); while Ambati Rayudu (74 in 50 balls; 9x4, 3x6) held the chase, followed by Yuvraj Singh (13 not out) and Stuart Binny (15 not out). India won the match in 17.1 overs with only four wickets down.
Sachin Tendulkar opened for India and in his “copybook drive, flick, and ramp shot” raced to 23 off just 14 balls, as per a PTI report. His innings was cut short when he mistimed a pull off Tino Best, finding Chadwick Walton at fine-leg. But, by then, he had put India Masters in complete control, forging a 67-run opening stand in just 7.5 overs.
Amabti Rayudu followed and anchored the chase, smashing a flat six off Taylor.
In a face-off between Sachin Tendulkar vs Brian Lara (West Indies Masters Captain) face off, the latter's team saw Dwayne Smith (45 off 35 balls, 6x4, 2x6) take charge, while Brian Lara “played second fiddle” opening the innings. The duo were in top gear at 34 from 22 balls before Vinay Kumar halted Brian Lara's innings.
Later left-arm spinner Shahbaz Nadeem took out Dwayne Smith.
West Indies Masters 148/7; 20 overs (Lendl Simmons 57, Dwayne Smith 45; Vinay Kumar 3/26, Shahbaz Nadeem 2/12) lost to India Masters 149/4; 17.1 overs (Ambati Rayudu 74, Sachin Tendulkar 25) by six wickets.
