
Defending champions India will play just a single warm-up fixture ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. According to ESPNcricinfo, the warm-up fixtures start from February 2 and end on February 6, just a day before the main tournament starts. The warm-up fixtures are a part of every ICC event, to allow the teams get accustomed with the playing conditions and get acclimatized with the weather.
Led by Suryakumar Yadav, India will play South Africa on February 4 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Besides India, the India A team will play two games against USA and Namibia as a part of the warm-up ties. Interestingly, England have opted against playing any warm-up games.
Besides India A, Sri Lanka's 'A' team will face Oman during the warm-ups.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had requested the International Cricket Council (ICC) for a venue change but the apex body rejected the plea citing logistical nightmares at the very last moment. Bangladesh were replaced by Scotland in the T20 World Cup 2026.
Placed in Group A, India will have the likes of the USA, the Netherlands, Namibia and arch-rivals Pakistan as their oppositions in the group stages. The hosts start their campaign against USA on February 7, followed by matches against Namibia (February 12), Pakistan (February 15) and Netherlands (February 18).
