Pakistan's Usman Tariq, South Africa Lungi Ngidi and Afghanistan's Azmatullah Omarzai, all have eight wickets each and complete the top five.
Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan holds the record for most wickets in the history of ICC T20 World Cup with 50 scalps, followed by Pakistan's Shahid Afridi (39). At third and fourth are the Sri Lankan duo of Lasith Malinga (38) and Wanindu Hasaranga (37), while Afghanistan's Rashid Khan (37) completes the top five.
With Shakib, Afridi and Malinga no longer available, Hasaranga will have a chance to go up in the ladder. In the 2024 edition, Afghanistan's Fazalhaq Farooqi finished on top with 17 wickets, followed by the Indian duo of Arshdeep Singh (17) and Jasprit Bumrah (15). South Africa's Anrich Nortje (15) and Rashid Khan (14) completed the top five.
