ICC T20 World Cup Points Table FAQ

It is highly unlikely. Since South Africa already has 2 points and a massive NRR, and other teams haven't played as many games, finishing on just 2 points would almost certainly see India finish in the bottom half of the Super 8 table.
No. While the 76-run loss to South Africa was a major setback, India is still mathematically alive in the tournament. They have two Super 8 matches remaining to collect the points needed for a top-two finish in Group 1.
Yes, ideally. If South Africa wins all their remaining games, they clear the path for India to take the second qualifying spot with 4 points. If South Africa loses to Zimbabwe or West Indies, it creates a "points logjam" where NRR becomes the only way to decide who advances.
India must win both of their remaining Super 8 fixtures: vs. Zimbabwe: February 26 (Chennai) vs. West Indies: March 1 (Kolkata)
Because they were bundled out for 111 while chasing 188, India’s NRR plummeted to -3.800. If India, West Indies, and Zimbabwe all finish with 4 points, India will likely be eliminated unless they win their next two games by massive margins to overtake the others on NRR.

The points table is updated immediately after each match.

NRR stands for Net Run Rate, a critical metric used to separate teams on equal points.
