A win against West Indies in the second Test beginning at Sabina Park Jamaica would make Virat Kohli India’s most successful Test captain ever.
That after India made light work of their hosts by beating them by a convincing margin of 318 runs in Antigua after making a terrible start in the match where they were reduced to 28/3 in the first session of the match.
Thanks to the win, Kohli now has 27 wins from 47 Test matches and that is the same number that his predecessor MS Dhoni had. Dhoni though took 60 matches to rack up that number.
It has been a somewhat brilliant period for team India under Kohli as India finally managed to win a Test series down under earlier this year after the Sydney Test ended in a draw.
India also won Test matches in South Africa and England last year and could feel a bit unlucky that they didn’t manage to win more matches, especially in England.
Next up in Kohli’s sights will be Graeme Smith and Ricky Ponting who have 53 and 48 wins respectively.
