New Delhi: Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli emerged as the most-read about player, with more than 100 million readers choosing to read about him, revealed a survey from digital discovery platform Taboola.

The study titled ‘Cricket Players Reader Engagement’ captured the readers’ preference for players, their engagement time reading about players, and monthly reading patterns between March 2018 and February 2019 on the open web. It included over 450 million readers, 1,90,000 articles, 4 billion page views and 3.3 billion minutes of reading.

After Kohli, rising star Rishabh Pant with 12 million readers emerged as the second most read-about player online. West Indies player Chris Gayle with 5.5 million, Afghani bowler Rashid Khan with 5.4 million and New Zealand batsman Kane Williamson with 4.8 million also made it to the top five.

The next five players included South African batsman Ab De Villiers with 4.5 million, New Zealand bowler Trent Boult with 2.3 million, Australian player Andrew Tye 0.5 million. Indian bowlers Jaspreet Bumra with 85,000 and Siddarth Kaul with 5,000 readers figured in the list.
