It was a great day for Premier League club Crystal Palace as they recorded their first win over record champions Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Jordan Ayew gave Palace the lead and although Dan James equalised for the Red Devils, Patrick van Annholt scored in injury time to condemn hosts to a 2-1 defeat. What made the win more impressive was the fact that the London outfit had failed to score a single goal in their first two league games against Everton and Sheffield United respectively.

Following the win, the Eagles’ twitter account posted a small video on Twitter where their star player Wilfried Zaha player around Manchester United defender Ashley Young twice, including once where he has him on the floor, Ashley Young used to be a winger in his younger days and came on as a substitute for injured left back Luke Shaw. Along with the video the Twitter post read,

‘🕺 Wilf had him dancing. #CPFC’

However, Andros Townsend, another winger on Crystal Palace’s books took to twitter to pay respect to Ashley Young who did brilliantly to block the cross from Wilfried Zaha.

This is what Townsend’s tweet read,

‘A 34 y/o ex winger vs one of the leagues best wingers.... he gets destroyed twice yet still manages to block the cross.... we should be applauding this not making fun of it #Respect’

It’s a brilliant gesture from former Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur star who has come out and stood for his fellow professional for doing his job and gone slightly against his club.

Crystal Palace next take on Aston Villa at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
