Record Serie A champions Juventus have overtaken Manchester United as third most followed club on Instagram.
The Bainconeri now have 31.1 million followers on the social media site, while the Red Devils have 31 million.
Remarkably, 20 million of the 31.1 million followers have started following the club since the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo, who joined in 2018 for a fee of over 100 million Euros. The Portuguese superstar has over 181 million followers on the site.
La Vecchia Signora’s following may have also been helped by some high profile signings during the summer, with the likes of Aaron Ramsay, Matthijs de Ligt among others joining the club.
Despite the increase in the number of followers, the club is still way behind the leaders Real Madrid who have 77.6 million followers. Second on the list are Real’s La Liga rivals FC Barcelona who have 76.4 million.
Rounding up the top five is Ligue 1 club Paris-Saint Germain who have 23.8 million followers.
