Watch: Wayne Rooney scores goal from his own half

  • Now in the twilight of his career, Red Devils’ all time leading scorer is plying his trade in the Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States
  • Wayne Rooney scored the goal for D.C. United against Orlando City SC

Wayne Rooney has always been a special talent; everyone knew that from the start of his career. No one would ever forget the goal he scored against Arsenal to stop their unbeaten run in the 2002-03 season.

As his career progressed he went on to score some spectacular goals, who would forget the overhead kick against Manchester City at Old Trafford in the derby.

The former Manchester United and England captain has had the knack of scoring a goal from his own half as well. He did at Manchester United against West ham and then followed that up by scoring one for Everton against West Ham United in the 2017-18 season, completing his hat-trick in the process.

Now in the twilight of his career, Red Devils’ all time leading scorer is plying his trade in the Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States.

The quality is there for all to see though, even though he is not getting any younger. On Thursday Moring he scored an outrageous goal for his team D.C. United against Orlando City SC.

This is the latest example of how Rooney has inspired his team during his stint in the US. Last season he almost single handedly helped his team into the play-offs and also produced some incredible moments.
