India's men's kabaddi team clinched a win against Taiwan in the group A match at the ongoing Asian Games in Hangzhou on Thursday.
India's men's kabaddi team dominated the game against Taiwan from the very first half and sealed a 50-27 win in the Group A match.
In the first half, India received 3 bonus points, 4 all out, and 21 out points. On the other hand, Taiwan only received two bonus points and 10 out.
In the second half, India got one bonus and 19 out points. While the opponent got three bonuses and nine out points.
With the win against Taiwan, the Indian men's kabaddi team continued their unbeaten run in the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou.
Four Indian jujutsukas - Navya Pandey, Tarun Yadav, Kamal Singh and Anwesha Deb - took centrestage today at the Asian Games 2023. Indian wrestler Antim Panghal lost her quarterfinal match against world champion Akari Fujinami of Japan in women's 53kg category at the Asian Games here on Thursday. The far superior Japanese won the contest by effecting a 'fall'. Fujinami was always going to be a tough competitor for Antim and the bout went according to script with the Japanese closing out the contest with more than a minute left in the first period.
Antim was included in the Indian contingent for the Asian Games after Vinesh Phogat pulled out due to an injury. Earlier, Antim scored an easy victory over Uzbekistan's Jasmina Immaeva 11-0 to set up a quarterfinal clash against the Japanese, the world championships winner in 2021 Oslo and 2023 Belgrade.
Indian grappler Antim Panghal, a two-time U-20 world champion, won 11-0 against Jasmina Immaeva, the reigning Asian Championships silver medallist, in the women’s freestyle 53kg pre-quarterfinals at the Asian Games 2023.
The 19-year-old Antim scored five technical points in the first half and six in the second to advance to the quarter-finals, where she will take on the 2021 World Wrestling Championships gold medallist Akari Fujinami from Japan.
