PremiumAsian Games 2023 Highlights: It's weekend today, but Indian sports players are all focused to pump up India's performance in the ongoing Asian Games competition in Hanghzou China. So far, India have won a total of 38 medals.
Notably, more than half of the gold medals came from shooting (6), and one from cricket and equestrian each. India will script history, as Indian badminton team is all set to compete for its first-ever Gold in Asian Games on Sunday.
India's star player, Aditi Ashok, won silver in golf on Sunday. Indian shooters are also expected to bring medals for the country today.
Other than badminton, two-time boxing world champion Nikhat Zareen, will be in action today to confirm her place in women's 50 kg final. One medal is already assured from her side.
Olympic medallist Avinash Mukund Sable will spell his charm in athletics as he will compete in the men's 3000m steeplechase final. Other than this, Murali Sreeshankar and Jeswin Aldrin will compete in men's long jump.

We have table-tennis action coming up with the pair of Sutirtha Mukherjee and Ayhika Mukherjee taking on China's Chen Weng and Yidi Weng in women's doubles quarterfinals.
The second game was a see-saw affair. The South Koreans started off with a lead before Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chiraj Shetty soared to a 8-5 lead, but then conceded four straight points to allow Minhyuk Kang and Seungjae Seo to level the score at 9-all. However, it was India who gained a two-point cushion at the mid-game interval. They maintained the lead through the second half of the game before the South Koreans threatened to steal it away by levelling the score at 21-all. India sneaked ahead but conceded the next point again. Kang and Seo then gamed set point opportunity twice before converting it on their second chance. The score in the semifinal tie is now level at 1-1.

In Match 2, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chiraj Shetty are up against South Korea's Minhyuk Kang and Seungjae Seo, with the aim to hand India 2-0 lead and secure a place in the final. They bagged the opening game 21-13.
Following the gold medal, which India won in the men's squash team event, the medal tally extends to 36.
India have won 10 gold, 13 silver, and 13 bronze.
Abhay Singh does it for India as the Indian men’s team defeat Pakistan in a five-game thriller to win gold in squash. Indian edge Pakistan 2-1 in the best-of-three final contest to clinch the gold.
Abhay closes the fifth and final game 12-10.
India have a slender two point advantage over Pakistan at the moment as the score reads 6-4.
Indian boxer Narender enters semi-final of Men's 92kg category after beating Iman of Iran by unanimous decision (5-0), assures at least bronze.
The men's team squash final will see the decider to go to the fifth game as Abhay Singh fights back to beat Pakistan's Noor Zaman in game 4. It is 2-2 between both of them now!
