The suspension of the match brought disappointment for thousands of IPL fans, who were expecting to enjoy the epic finals. But, not every fan had the luxury to go back to their comfortable homes as some Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fans were spotted sleeping on the ground at nearest railway station.
CSK fans chose to spend their night uncomfortably in railway stations instead of going back homes as the Board of Control of Cricket (BCCI) allowed the fans to use the same tickets on Reserve Day (Monday). This is the first time in the history of 16 seasons of the IPL, that the final match was suspended and rescheduled to the Reserve Day. IPL made the final announcement around 11:00 PM and a wave of disappointment swept through the thousands of fans present at the stadium.
In some bad news for the excited fans, the Indian Metrological Department (IMD) has predicted rainfall in Ahmedabad on Monday also. According to the weather department, light to moderate rainfall with gusty winds (30-40 km) is predicted at isolated places in Ahmedabad.
If the rains gods don't allow the match today, the Gujarat Titans (GT) will be declared champions, as the team ended on top of the points table in league matches.
The defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) are set to go against the four-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK). For GT, the season has been as magical as their debut season in 2022 and the team has dominated the tournament since the start.
CSK has fought hard to recover in the tournament after some initial losses and displayed the required strength. The opening combination of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway has worked well for the team and on the big day, the team will hope to capitalize on the same.
