Apple unveiled the gaming mode as part of the new MacOS Sonoma while announcing the new updates on 5 June during its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).

Its Game Mode will allow more consistent framerates and prioritize the game’s utilization of processing power. They will be interactive and developer-enabled.
CEO Tim Cook delivered a keynote address marking the opening of the event. Though Apple did not make any major announcements about generative AI products similar to ChatGPT or Google's Bard search engine.
Among other things, Apple introduced include, Apple Vision Pro, visionOS, AirPlay, new Mac Studio PC with M2 Max and M2 Ultra chips, watchOS 10, MacOS Sonoma, NameDrop, iOS 17 with new features coming to iPad and iPhone, and new 15.3-inch MacBook Air with M2 chipset.
Announcing more, Apple said that it is brining 'Death Stranding Director's Cut' to the iMac later this year.
The new Game Mode and new Game Porting Toolkit for Metal, developers will be able to evaluate how well a game will run on the Mac.
The event emanated from the firm's ring-shaped Apple Park corporate headquarters in Cupertino, California, and will take place from June 5-9.
