Latest WhatsApp beta update adds Night Mode to more sections
- WhatsApp beta's new version (v2.19.145) has introduced the Night Mode to more sections of the app
- The Night Mode works for Contact Profiles and Group Settings
WhatsApp beta's latest update has expanded the support for the app's Night Mode, according to app tracker WABetaInfo. WhatsApp beta's new version (v2.19.145) has introduced the Night Mode to more sections of the app.
The Android beta update version 2.19.139 brought back the Dark Mode after it went missing for a few days. It was renamed Night Mode. It worked for Chats List, Calls, and Status.
It now works for Contact Profiles and Group Settings.
The action buttons appear in green, but WhatsApp would change it to White once the mode is finally available.
According to WABetaInfo, the feature is still not enabled in the beta version, meaning it appears in the code, but not within the app settings. The tipster says that the exact timeline for the availability is not known yet.
The Night Mode doesn't make the background of the app completely black, however. It is a very dark shade of grey, which means it cannot act as a battery saving option for AMOLED screens. AMOLED displays work more efficiently when using apps with black backgrounds as the individual pixels shut down whenever they are instructed to display a black colour.
The previous update also brought as many as 155 redesigned emojis. WhatsApp reworked existing emojis and made them smaller and a bit more detailed. Some emojis have been entirely redesigned, like the mermaid emoji.
