Amazon introduces kid-appropriate Echo Dot, but what about privacy?

Kids are curious and ask innumerable questions which may or may not be answerable by the adults. To keep the young ones busy asking questions, Amazon has introduced a new Amazon.
The new smart speaker has been designed to be kid-appropriate. Kids can ask Alexa to play music, hear stories, even make a call to an approved list of people, the product listing notes.
Amazon Echo Dot Kids Edition comes in Rainbow and Blue colour options and costs $49.99.
It includes one-year of FreeTime Unlimited, kid-friendly content, and some of the regular Echo Dot speakers such as setting alarms and checking the weather.
Amazon says the new Echo Dot Kids Edition is "70% louder" than the first-gen version and includes a year of FreeTime Unlimited. FreeTime Unlimited is a subscription service that offers Alexa features that are more appropriate for kids — and provides controls for parents, as well as a variety of non-Echo features on Fire tablets and other devices for children.
Examples of Alexa skills only available via FreeTime Unlimited include Disney Dance Floor by Disney Publishing, Baby Shark Adventures by Pinkfong and Ghostbusters by Sony.
Privacy features of such a device aimed for kids are a bit questionable, however. Amazon has recently come under fire following reports that the company holds on to transcripts of your Alexa conversations. Amazon as a response to this introduced a new feature that lets users say “Alexa, delete everything I said today" to delete the voice data.
There are, however some issues with the implementation of the new feature. Amazon has provided the feature on an opt-in basis and has buried the ability to enable this feature in no less than four menus.
Further, users are only given the option to delete a single day’s Alexa recordings, up to the time that they delete them by saying, “Alexa delete everything I said today." That means it’s not a full 24-hour period of deletion. Recordings registered after you tell Alexa to delete everything you said will be retained, unless you tell Alexa again to delete everything you said. The clock starts anew at midnight.
